These booties do what I want. They stretch tight and seal out the snow and moisture. I use trail running shoes intended for summer use but the booties convert them for winter use. They don't get loose.

So lightweight, easy to put on, and they kept my feet delightfully warm while tromping around in wet snow. I do wear fairly small, minimal hiking shoes, and the large is a little too big for my size 10 feet. Next time I would investigate the small/medium for a better fit.
